EB supports Pride Month with LGBTQ+ charity, akt

This Pride month, we are pleased to announce that we are partnering with LGBTQ+ charity AKT for the second year in a row! We will be donating 25% of net sales made from our Rainbow Edit to the organisation throughout June.

Did you know that coming out, or being outed as LGBTQ+, can lead to young people being made homeless? Current data shows that 24% of young, homeless people identify as LGBTQ+. Once homeless, these LGBTQ+ people are more likely to face violence and discrimination than those who are not LGBTQ+, causing a significant impact to their physical and mental health.

AKT, or the Albert Kennedy Trust, is a charity which aims to change this. Founded in Manchester in 1989, the organisation serves young LGBTQ+ people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment – specifically, they support young people into safe homes, employment, education or training whilst celebrating LGBTQ+ identities in a welcoming and open environment. This is vital given that 77% of the people they work with believe that coming out was the key factor in causing their homelessness.

In honour of our LGBTQ+ staff, and every LGBTQ+ person, it is important to us at Estella Bartlett to support those facing injustice. If you’re keen to support the important work of AKT with us, check out our Rainbow Edit which features some of our best-sellers – the CZ Pendant Rainbow Beaded Necklace, the Gemstone Beaded Necklace, the CZ Infinity Bracelet.

We thank you for helping us support this important cause!
