We are pleased to announce that for the fourth year running, we will be partnering up with akt, a charity supporting LGBTQ+ youth facing homelessness struggles, for the entirety of June to celebrate Pride Month! 25% of net sales from our Rainbow Edit in June will be donated.
akt, or the Albert Kennedy Trust, is a charity that works to support young LGBTQ+ people who have been made homeless into safe homes and employment, whilst celebrating their identities in a welcoming environment. Did you know that a shocking 1 in 4 LGBTQ+ identifying young person faces violence and abuse at home, and around 77% of young people that akt supports are facing homelessness as a result of coming out? Due to this, 24% of young, homeless people identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, leading to further unnecessary discrimination and violence. akt work nationally to ensure that these numbers don’t rise, and young people have a safe place to turn to; these are values that are close to our hearts here at Estella Bartlett.
