Tiny Jewellery Box

A tiny jewellery box is perfect for keeping your essential daily jewellery all in one place. The small square shape is compact, making it an excellent travel jewellery box and great for home use due to the size. The compartment is big enough to store a couple of rings, earrings, and a necklace. The secure zip fastening gives you added protection, so you don’t have to worry about losing your jewellery.

Mini Jewellery Box

A mini jewellery box is compact yet excellent for storing your jewellery. With compartments for earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces, there is enough space to store all your favourites. The mini jewellery box would make a great addition when travelling, and the double zip fastening gives you peace of mind that your jewellery is securely fastened.

Large Jewellery Box

Large jewellery boxes are a great place to store and organise all of your jewellery collections. They include lots of different compartments for earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches. Larger jewellery boxes protect your jewellery from becoming tangled and damaged, and will make your bedroom feel more elegant and stylish.

Jewellery Pouch

A jewellery pouch is the perfect option for travelling, the pouches fold together, reducing the amount of space it would take up. The jewllery pouch has different compartments for bracelets, earrings, rings, and necklaces. Keep your dainty jewellery extra safe and secure in the handy zip compartment.

What Is Each Part Of A Jewellery Box For?

Jewellery boxes come in all different shapes and sizes, and there are many various designs with different compartments. However, there are some common features amongst the most popular jewellery boxes.

Rings

A ring compartment is perfect for keeping all your rings safe and separate from damaging each other. The most commonly used designs in jewellery boxes are velvet ring rolls, as they are a great way to store your rings. They allow you to easily view all your rings whilst keeping them protected and safe. When you place each ring into the velvet ring roll, they get a polish every time they are placed and removed from the ring roll.

Necklaces

Necklaces are known for getting tangled up and knotted themselves! This is why a necklace compartment is essential in a jewellery box. The compartments separate your necklace collection, so they don't get tangled up.

Earrings

Since earrings are so delicate and precious, keeping them in a safe area is essential. Our jewellery pouches have a section for your earrings, with little holes for you to place your studs in. This is perfect for securing your studs and making them easy to view.

How Do You Organise a Jewellery Box?

Having an organised jewellery box brings many benefits as it will make your life a lot easier, you will know where everything is and don’t run the risk of misplacing any of your jewellery. Here are a few steps on how to organise your jewellery box.

Empty your jewellery box/gather your jewellery together

When organising your jewellery box, the first step would be to empty your jewellery box. If you haven’t got a jewellery box, then gather all your jewellery together.

Declutter your jewellery

If you haven’t organised your jewellery for a while, then now is a great opportunity to declutter your jewellery. The best way to do this is to make different piles, an example of piles could be jewellery you want to keep, unwanted jewellery which you could rehome using our Traidcraft Recycling Jewellery Programme.

Untangle your jewellery

Make sure that none of your jewellery has any knots in it by untangling them, this can be a nuisance to do, but it will definitely be worth it!

  • A tip to help you untangle any knots in your jewellery would be to sprinkle baby powder on the knot, as this will work as a lubricant, making the chains easier to pull apart. You must remember to rinse the baby powder off the necklace before placing it back into your jewellery box.

Group similar items of jewellery together

Group all your similar jewellery pieces together. For example, we recommend you have a separate area for all your necklaces and a separate area for bracelets, rings and so on.

Place jewellery in your jewellery box

Lastly, place your jewellery pieces into the desired compartment, there is usually a compartment for rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.

How To Store Jewellery

When storing your jewellery pieces, you want to be able to access them when needed but keep them safe and beautiful to look at when you don't. For rings and stud earrings, you may want a ring dish that could be placed on your vanity table. You will want the jewellery you wear most frequently on here, so you can have access to them easily and quickly.

The best option for storing your jewellery in good condition would be in a jewellery box with dividers and drawers. This will keep your jewellery separate from each other, perfect for preventing your jewellery from scratching each other and getting tangled.

Your jewellery should never be stored in the bathroom or anywhere with high temperatures. Ensure your jewellery is stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and in a low humidity environment to keep it in the best condition possible.

Silver jewellery can tarnish if it isn't looked after correctly. So ensure your jewels are organised and separate in your jewellery box when you aren't wearing them. Read our blog to find out more about how to clean silver plated jewellery.

Keep your gemstone jewellery stored separately in a jewellery box from your other pieces, as they could scratch them. Read our blog to find out more information on how to store jewellery.
